The Right to Education is Not Right

Marius-Cristian Pană

The interventionists become very creative when it comes to argue in favor of government involvement in economy and society matters. The constellation of arguments for state intervention in education makes no exception. Argue against it, prove the fallacies of involvement and the interventionists will defend themselves using the idea of individual’s right to education. In fact there is no particular right to education, as I will show next. There is only the natural right of individuals to use their own bodies as they properly consider without restricting the liberty of others. This is the only coherent approach concerning education, fully compatible with the freedom of choice based initiatives and market relationships.
